His participation in the House Music/Hip Hop scene along with the motor-sports culture dates back to his early teenage years in the northwest side of Chicago. In 1995 he was finally able to realize his dream of producing the first large-scale urban custom car show at the International Amphitheatre, the first ever celebrity custom car show in New York City, and the Megaseries Celebrity Tour in 2002. Jorge also led the efforts in helping create the National Custom Car Association (NCCA). This opportunity brought him the chance to work hand in hand with many national car clubs, celebrities and Blue Chip companies across the country like Budweiser, Nitto Tire, Sony, and Vibe Magazine.

Ortega was most recently invited by the Director of International Relations at the Department of Canadian Heritage and Chair of the Inter-American Committee on Culture of the Organization of American States (OAS), to participate in Ignite the Americas: Youth Arts Policy Forum (see: www.ignitetheamericas.ca)  in Toronto, Canada from September 15th - 21st, 2008.

Ignite the Americas is a Canada-led initiative, which is planned and produced in partnership with the Inter-American Committee on Culture (CIC) of the OAS. Its purpose is to bring 68 young people, industry leaders, and cultural policy experts, from across the hemisphere that have experience in the use of art and cultural expression to engage marginalized youth.

As one of the industry leaders selected to participate in Ignite the Americas, Ortega worked with youth delegates and policy makers from across the Americas to: develop a toolkit of practical information aimed at strengthening the capacity of youth to create successful and sustainable enterprises, build a permanent hemispheric network of youth arts organizations to promote best practices and propose recommendations for creating cultural policy that use art and cultural expression as tools for youth inclusion and economic growth.

Ortega is deeply committed to this mission and this is also one of the main goals of TRP as a social responsible firm.

"The idea of bringing a piece of the urban life to the forefront has been my passion since I began my involvement in the entertainment industry more than 15 years ago", said Jorge Ortega. "The opportunity to collaborate in conjunction with such talented artists and share a mixture of ideas, styles and creativity is the perfect notion of being Urban."
